Peters' office had warning of Mideast troop flights
A risk-assessment report on the Air New Zealand charter flights of Australian troops to the Middle East was sent to Winston Peters' office before the flights but was not read. National foreign affairs spokesman Murray McCully says that information is at odds with answers Mr Peters, the Foreign Minister, gave Parliament on August 16. Mr Peters left the distinct impression that neither he nor anyone in his office had received any communication on the flights when he said: "To the best of everyone's recollections, there were no communications to the Minister of Foreign Affairs or to his office." Mr McCully said Mr Peters had been "careless with the truth". Seeing as Winston didn’t even bother to read the report that told him the Government were about to let Ahmed Zaoui free, do any of us find it implausible that ‘bottle of whisky’ Peters slept through this briefing paper as well? The guy is like a drunk Labrador, he ain’t no spring chicken and I’m sure there is a Ministerial aid who helps chew his food first as well, isn’t it time old man Peters was rolled off to the retirement village before he does any real damage?

And what's with the kiwis that work for these mercenary groups. Why are they allowed to work as a "contractor"in a war the NZ government does not support?

Why is it any of the government's business? If organisations such as ABC and CBS are prepared to pay big $ for their services then that should be a matter between those organisations and the individuals concerned.

Because, believe it or not, Labour hasn't passed new laws which allow the government to dictate who can go overseas and what they are allowed to do while abroad. Yet.
